social care academy – LMS

The Social Care Academy LMS was developed to provide a central digital learning platform for the adult social care workforce across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. My role involved supporting the setup, implementation, and ongoing management of the platform, helping to create a structured learning environment for a large and varied audience. This included organising courses, supporting learner access, contributing to reporting processes, and helping ensure the platform was practical, scalable, and easy to navigate.

The project demonstrates my experience in LMS management as well as instructional design. I worked with learning content, learner data, platform configuration, and stakeholder requirements to support the Academy’s wider goals. The LMS became a key part of delivering accessible digital learning at scale, supporting workforce development across social care providers and helping turn the Academy from an idea into a sustainable learning offer.

Key outcomes and features included:

  • The Academy was featured on BBC News.
  • Most courses were completed within one week of enrolment.
  • Engagement targets were exceeded by 230%.
  • Over 200 care providers engaged with the Academy.
  • Custom SQL queries were written to support detailed reporting.
  • An automated Excel dashboard was developed using scheduled reports and Power Automate.
